Good ol' Sideviews are a great way to quickly put down ideas and proportions, and eventually write down notes for details, colors, etc, and most of all make quick variations of the same idea. I dunno if it was the winter holidays' influencing me but I'm considering making a ship with part of the hull in a red/white sugar cane pattern....and at an angle with the length axis. The rest of the ship I'm not sure about yet. These sketches seem to suggest the propulsion is a bit experimental with several cylinders, also at an angle. I'll have to refine it a bit in my head and see what this becomes when I have time. I included the shading I did in Photoshop before adding color, and the original sketch in ink wash and ballpoint.
